February Loves

On behalf of Valentine's and that thing that leaves my heart so full each day, I wanted to share some of the things that I absolutely love and am so grateful for in my life.
  • I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and Savior. I am grateful for answered prayers and peace.
  • My family. It was such a treat to have parents come visit me, and to know that everyone is safe on the west coast.
  • My friends back home! You know who you are. I love you. I love talking to you. I will never forget you. Can't wait to see you all in May!
  • The sunshine. There isn't much more that makes me happier and puts me in a better mood than feeling the sun on my skin. Florida has been a good move for me!
  • My roommates. I couldn't imagine a more random group of girls, but despite our differences we mesh so well together and they are some of the greatest friends! I love you girls.
  • The bus. Without a car, I now take the bus, and although I get very car-sick, the bus has been very entertaining. Like when the bus driver took us down an ally and tried to drop us off thinking it was our stop or re-meeting the boy I met dancing one night (who may or may not have been intoxicated at the time), or watching all the exhausted people turn into bobble heads on the way home, or like today when I sat next to a girl who thought it would be a good idea to start dancing in her seat, and the stories go on...
  • Endless opportunities of fun: DisneyWorld, Universal (yes I bought a season pass and will be attending every one of their Mardi Gras concerts), Waterparks, the ocean, Cirque du Soleil again, wonderful restaurants, Twistee Treats maybe a little too much, and movie and dinner nights with the roomies!
Life is good. I love you all and hope everyone is happy and healthy! Tootles

Typhoon Lagoon

I now have a new favorite place: Typhoon Lagoon. It is one of the Disney water parks and it is the closest “beach” to me. I moved to Florida to play in the sun and water and that is exactly what I am getting. J Two of the past three days I have been with my amazing roommates working on my tan there. They have these awesome water coasters which brings me to my first embarrassing moment. [For some reason I find myself in these situations all the time here.] Katelyn and I climb up the stairs with our raft ready to take our first ride on the water coaster. As we get to the top, the lifeguard standing in front of us is our new friend and neighbor, Justin. So normally, like I would any friend, I embrace him with open arms! As I pull away from him to begin usual small talk, his eyes are focused in on my boob. When his eyes continue to stay there, I look down and see that his name tag stuck to my boob. Just then it falls to the ground, so as I bend down to pick it up, he did too and we hit heads. It was pretty awful.
Next story…there is this awesome wave pool that generates a 6-foot wave every 90 seconds. I have been spending a lot of time there trying to catch this extremely fast wave. I began to think this wave is impossible to catch and then today there was this pro-body surfing man that was catching every single one of them! So I decide to join him to see if I can figure it out. Keep in mind this man is 50, ripped, tan beyond belief, and is wearing a white swim cap, goggles and a tiny navy blue thong Speedo. I am so close to catching each one, but can’t seem to get it. We both swim back to the deep end and wait for the next wave. Ironically Justin is on the other side of me trying to catch the wave as well. Then the man looks at me and says sternly, “I know why you can’t catch the wave. One (he literally says the numbers): you are swimming with your arms out of the water. Two: you are not wearing goggles. Three: You are a girl. Oh and you need a swim shirt…I’ve taught a lot of girls and I’ve seen too many tops come off.” Ok thanks buddy who’s wearing less of a swimsuit than me! So rude! I couldn’t believe he had the nerve, so I swim right up next to him and we take off on the next wave. I caught it and walked out of the pool!

Loving my Parents

So last week, my parents were able to come visit me for a whole week! I have the best parents in the world, and it was so fun being their personal vacation planner on their very well-deserved vacation. We did the entire Disney World vacation, seeing all the parks multiple times. My favorite night was seeing Cirque du Soleil. It was such an amazing show, and I plan on going again for sure. We also went coast to coast from Cocoa Beach to Clearwater on the Gulf. If you know me, then you know how much I LOVE the ocean and NEED it in my life. It was an amazing week, and I miss them everyday! Thank you Mom and Dad for being the loving, supportive, strength in my life.
