Typhoon Lagoon

I now have a new favorite place: Typhoon Lagoon. It is one of the Disney water parks and it is the closest “beach” to me. I moved to Florida to play in the sun and water and that is exactly what I am getting. J Two of the past three days I have been with my amazing roommates working on my tan there. They have these awesome water coasters which brings me to my first embarrassing moment. [For some reason I find myself in these situations all the time here.] Katelyn and I climb up the stairs with our raft ready to take our first ride on the water coaster. As we get to the top, the lifeguard standing in front of us is our new friend and neighbor, Justin. So normally, like I would any friend, I embrace him with open arms! As I pull away from him to begin usual small talk, his eyes are focused in on my boob. When his eyes continue to stay there, I look down and see that his name tag stuck to my boob. Just then it falls to the ground, so as I bend down to pick it up, he did too and we hit heads. It was pretty awful.
Next story…there is this awesome wave pool that generates a 6-foot wave every 90 seconds. I have been spending a lot of time there trying to catch this extremely fast wave. I began to think this wave is impossible to catch and then today there was this pro-body surfing man that was catching every single one of them! So I decide to join him to see if I can figure it out. Keep in mind this man is 50, ripped, tan beyond belief, and is wearing a white swim cap, goggles and a tiny navy blue thong Speedo. I am so close to catching each one, but can’t seem to get it. We both swim back to the deep end and wait for the next wave. Ironically Justin is on the other side of me trying to catch the wave as well. Then the man looks at me and says sternly, “I know why you can’t catch the wave. One (he literally says the numbers): you are swimming with your arms out of the water. Two: you are not wearing goggles. Three: You are a girl. Oh and you need a swim shirt…I’ve taught a lot of girls and I’ve seen too many tops come off.” Ok thanks buddy who’s wearing less of a swimsuit than me! So rude! I couldn’t believe he had the nerve, so I swim right up next to him and we take off on the next wave. I caught it and walked out of the pool!
The Crew for the day: Katelyn, Me, Jackie, Emily, Tim, and Justin

Snorkling with the Sharks! (it's ok to laugh)

This is the wave pool, where you can find me!

  1. I've so been there! When I was in 6th grade or so... and I'm pretty sure the same guy was there! In that same wave pool. Same old man with goggles and speedo.
    Not even kidding!
